How I Secretly Figured Out My Size for Him

Hey there, lovely readers! Today I want to share a rather fun and sneaky little adventure I had – figuring out my own size, all in the name of a sweet surprise from my partner.
 
You see, I suspect my man has this amazing plan to get me something super sexy from that lingerie brand we both love. And I, being the curious and excited gal that I am, decided to take matters into my own hands (well, secretly, of course) to make sure he gets it just right. Because let's face it, lingerie sizing can be a total maze!
 
Figuring out my own size wasn't a walk in the park, and I bet it's the same for many of you. It's not like regular clothing sizes, and I didn't want to just blurt out my measurements to him – where's the fun and surprise in that? So, I kind of had to play detective in my own wardrobe.
Here's how I did it, step by step, and maybe it'll come in handy for you too if you're in a similar situation!

Step 1. Boob Math, but in Reverse

We all know getting the right bra size is like solving a mini math puzzle. Usually, we measure under the breasts for the band size and across the fullest part for the bust measurement to figure out that tricky cup size. But this time, I had to work backwards from the bras I wear most often.

Let's say I know I usually wear a 36B. That means my band size is 36 inches, and since it's a B cup, there's a 2-inch difference between my band and bust measurements. So, doing a little reverse math, I know my bust size is at least 38 inches. Easy peasy once you break it down!

One measurement down, two more to go!

Step 2. Don't Waste Time on the Waist


Next up was my waist measurement. I rummaged through my closet, looking for those dresses with a defined or natural waist – you know, the ones that cinch in just right. The waist is usually a few inches below the bust area, and sometimes there's an obvious sewn-in band to help you spot it. If not, just lay the dress flat and find where it curves inward.

Once I located the waist, I made sure to lay the dress on a perfectly flat surface – this is super important, ladies! Using a soft tape measure, I measured across the front of the dress and then doubled that number. So if I got 13.5 inches, that meant my waist was at least 27 inches.

Almost there!

Step 3. Hooray for Hips!

Measuring my hips was a bit like the waist process, but with jeans this time. I grabbed my favorite pair, zipped and buttoned them up, and laid them flat on the floor. The key here is to measure about 1.5 inches below the bottom of the zipper – not near the top of the jeans! With my trusty soft tape measure, I got that number and doubled it to find my hip measurement.

By now, I was getting the hang of this sneaky sizing game!

Step 4. Time to Shop (or Drop Hints!)

Now that I had all my measurements, I could just imagine my partner easily browsing lovingerie.com picking out the most gorgeous lingerie for me. And here's a tip, if you're ever in his shoes: ALWAYS check the size charts! With so many different brands, the sizes can vary a lot. If you're unsure, it's better to go up an inch or two – trust me, loose lingerie is way better than something you can't even squeeze into. That would be such a bummer!
